Remember Last Summer explores the ways in which emotions contained in a memory can be visually triggered by unrelated events. The resulting photograph becomes the possibility of a memory, creating something new that Juliette likes to call found memories.
The work finds its source in the conversations that Juliette had with her grandmother, then in the terminal phase of Alzheimer's, where she mainly evokes her childhood adventures. Only in these priceless moments did the old woman's soul shine and feel at peace. Everything else was empty, frightening, useless.
With recent world events, the series has taken on a new light; nostalgia is omnipresent, holding the viewer by the hand, whispering memories of carefree times.
